Rentaro, Hakari, Shizuka, and Karane have made a somewhat stable group。 Of course, Rentaro has 97 girlfriends left to go。 Heck, he can’t even field a baseball team at this point。 This time it’s weird science and dispassionate logic, plus a swimming adventure that knows far too well what it’s doing。If the first volume of this was funny, and it was, this volume is like that, but twice as stupid and twice as good。 I can say that it is almost certainly the funniest manga I’ve read in the last two ye Rentaro, Hakari, Shizuka, and Karane have made a somewhat stable group。 Of course, Rentaro has 97 girlfriends left to go。 Heck, he can’t even field a baseball team at this point。 This time it’s weird science and dispassionate logic, plus a swimming adventure that knows far too well what it’s doing。If the first volume of this was funny, and it was, this volume is like that, but twice as stupid and twice as good。 I can say that it is almost certainly the funniest manga I’ve read in the last two years, putting a number of gag books to shame。 When this is on, it is on like nothing else。Partly this story works because it is, truly, the ultimate form of the harem manga。 Rather than conjure up alternate endings for your fanbase or leave some disappointed with the final pairing, just have the male lead out to love them all equally and increase the quantity to a ludicrous level。There’s also no competition between the girls here, for the most part。 This is as polyamorous as you can get: the girls all love Rintaro and he loves them and none of them bat an eye as he tallies up girl after girl (or do they? You evil cliffhanger, you)。 The friction comes from how incredibly dumb everybody is and how weird the new additions are。 Yeah, the girls sometimes crave a little extra attention, Hakari turns out to be a consummate schemer, but at the end of the day they really are a functioning polycule。The first new girl, Eiai, is the best thing in this book。 She’s the analytical grade grubber taken to the extreme - things that do not increase her standing or give her extra efficiency are not worth it。 Still, Rintaro gets the soul mate zap from her so he has to woo her lest she die horribly。 This leads into a date for the ages and certainly the funniest an amusement park has ever been, as Eiai’s analytical tendencies devour the fun in everything (the omake for this one has a brutally funny callback)。 The way Rintaro gets her to open up and how it turns out she’s not as emotionless as she seemed is great。 Her name also lends itself to some atrocious (and therefore excellent) puns down the road。Then comes the pool visit, which turns to both high drama and low humour as breasts are mashed beyond the breaking point and somebody is stranded on a deserted island and lips are locked and lessons learned and men get eye gouged。 The payoff to the groping scene (consensual for the girls, slightly less so for Rintaro) is truly one for the ages。 The girls are holding up signs spelling out ‘Fan Service’ on the chapter title - brazen doesn’t even cut it。The next addition is pint-sized scientist Kusuri, who definitely doesn’t make meth, probably, and injects a lot of insanity into the already crazed proceedings。 By the time we’re done with her introduction to the group we’ll have one of the weirdest Resident Evil parodies ever and a lot of alchemy and some mild chiropractic work。Look, this is a crass book。 It has boobs flying (in defiance of physics, per usual) and bondage gags and fan service in its fan service and if you have no tolerance for such chicanery, don’t bother。 If you can even slightly stand it, this is worth a look because good lord is it funny too。 The fourth wall break in this book for a 69 joke is so crude that I laughed at the sheer audacity。Once again, or in case you’re new to my writing, I do not like harem books as a general rule。 They tend to be an excuse to draw sexy girls with a milquetoast protagonist and they are very, very frequently not, in any way, funny。 Even when they’re supposed to be。 This series knows what makes an actual joke。Yeah, there are some of the cheapest excuses for yuri antics and costume changes and breasts as nature’s airbags and other stuff that I think is dumb in here (okay, the airbags made me laugh), but just as many jokes about meth and diapers and other puerile stupidity that I can’t deny I was howling at。And hey, at least everybody is in love and they all get their time to kiss Rintaro and other stuff that most series would drag out forever。 This is a seriously functional group of lovers and they actually act like it, which is a really neat way to do it。 Be stupid, have sexy antics, but have a group that’s basically okay with it。 Clothing explosions have no shame in this story。4。5 stars - make no mistake, this is a dumb sex farce。 But it’s a very clever dumb sex farce that is here to make sure you are entertained and will move heaven and earth to do so while staying very firmly (or squishily, depending on who’s involved) in its lane and that’s a sentiment I can’t not appreciate。 。。。more

This is better than the first volume。 I was afraid if the author is going keep adding girlfriends the first two others will be drop by the waist side, but doesn't seems to be the case as all of the characters are getting decent screen time。 I wonder how or if the author really does have the guts to give the main character 100 girlfriends while keeping them all relevant。 I think Komi suffers from having too many characters, but we'll wait and see。This has some really touching moments as well as c This is better than the first volume。 I was afraid if the author is going keep adding girlfriends the first two others will be drop by the waist side, but doesn't seems to be the case as all of the characters are getting decent screen time。 I wonder how or if the author really does have the guts to give the main character 100 girlfriends while keeping them all relevant。 I think Komi suffers from having too many characters, but we'll wait and see。This has some really touching moments as well as comedic moments that I think balance each other really well。 I've notice that the main characters is not really bland and really does love his girlfriends。 I was thinking he'll be a real creep or pervert。 But so far he seems to love each one of his girlfriends。 。。。more
